Updates!

It is definitely time for some updates. If you remember I reported back in March that Ben was laid off the day we got the keys to our new house. It has been about 2 months since and things have been better than ever. We considered his lay off a nice vacation for him, which he definitely deserved. About 3 weeks in he was already under contract working again, but this time from home. We figured that was what he was going to do just work freelance from home for whoever needed work. Everything really could not have worked out better; with the new house he has his own office so he is really able to “get into the zone.” That is what I like to call it because he comes up with some pretty sick looking designs in there. I love that he has a space in the house all to himself, but I can still see him from the living room so we can give our little looks and I love yous back and fourth. He is an amazing husband and a wonderful provider for our growing family!

How about updates on the house next. The house has been an amazing thing for us, we have lived there for just over 2 months and we absolutely love it. We do things that we never really did before or were able too. We go out in the backyard and water our flowers; we eat dinner together on our back patio and front patio, take long walks around the neighborhood, and have picnics in our backyard on the grass. It is crazy how much of a difference a new home can make. We have been trying to get the house ready for a house warming party but it takes sometime, so far we have about 10 things on the walls, mostly all of the rooms are filled minus the dinning room. The dinning room is empty because we are having a hard time finding a table that we love. We are hoping by party time there will be a table and not just a big empty room. The only room I have a picture of is the kitchen so I will post the before and after shots of that. Lets see, yesterday I rec’d my vanity chair in the mail, that could not have matched any better. I knew because it was wood, it would look good with the bathroom cabinets, but no joke it looks like the wood was carved out of my bathroom cabinets, SCORE! Our next big tasks for the weekend is to get Ben’s office looking awesome for the at home computer classes he is starting.

Ok so next on the list of updates; our little man’s nursery. I have kept it all pretty hush about what we were planning for the nursery. To be honest I was not sure myself until the bedding came in yesterday. I was very pleased with everything. I knew I wanted something modern but not to wild for a little boy, after all he is a baby not an adult. Some of these baby beddings they have out now are just insane and a lot older looking than they should be for a new born, at least in my opinion. I will post a few pics of what we have so far, which is actually just the bedding and his closet because everything else has not arrived yet. A little side note: newborn diapers are adorable and super tiny. Ben and I bought our first pack of Huggies the other day, but I was too anxious so I opened them up right away. They are the best things I have ever seen, felt or held for baby so far. They are white with baby green and yellow and Disney characters. I will post a pic of them too; it just isn’t the same until you see them. It felt so real when I had one in my hand. I looked over at Ben and said pretty soon we will have something to put in this, ahh how amazing I can’t wait to put them on his little bottom. I highly suggest going and getting a pack a newborn diapers for the pure joy.
His closet is getting pretty full, well at least the one side

Ben and Josh – “Experimental” Taser Test

Ben Video 3 Comments »

Here’s me (center) and my brother-in-law Josh (bottom) getting the sh*t tased out of us. For some reason they decided to do something “experimental” to all three of us at the same time. Not sure what it was, and don’t have prior experience to compare it to, but the pulses started out fast and ended slow and STRONG.

Couple reasons why I volunteered for this:

  1. Peer pressure, and bragging rights.
  2. I got a $350 civilian cs2 taser FREE and Josh got the $1000 X26 for being military FREE.
  3. I did it to make my beautiful wife Amanda laugh because she is 6 months pregnant and has been going through a LOT. Funny how seeing your husband shocked to hell will put a smile on your face.

Would I do it again for fun? No
If I was drinking with Josh? Probably
To get an x26? YES

Dehydration #2

Amanda Baby, Events No Comments »

So unfortunately it happened again, but this time I knew what was going on. All day I was really sick and was not able to keep anything down. Around 5 p.m. that evening it started to get really bad. I remember Ben’s parents bringing up over dinner and as soon as I ate it, it was right back up again. Another big hint is the awful headache that does not go away until you have IV. fluids. I told Ben he needed to take me to urgent care because I was dehydrated. It sucks because sometimes it does not matter what you do or how much water you drink, if you body rejects it all there is no easy fix. When I arrived at urgent care the nurse had informed me that my vitals did in fact show that was extremely dehydrated and they would be administering fluids. After the first bag of fluids I pretty much felt the exact same, but doing the second it was like I was alive again. It is almost like an instant feeling that runs through your whole body and I felt like me again. A few things that helped as well were these dissoluble Zofran pills and Tylenol. The Dr also had some pretty good advice; she has mentions to me that I have a B-6 deficiency. At first I was not sure what this meant but after reading about it, it makes perfect sense. It means that my body does not produce enough of it so the baby pretty much takes it all and there is nothing left for me. B-6 is good for a ton of things like nail growth, acne, nausea, and pretty much everything other thing I have been experiencing. Well we will see if it works, I am supposed to take 25 mg 3 times a day. Just another drug to add to my list.

Here is an awesome pic of me all hooked up, I look like a robot or something

Pregnancy Update

Amanda Baby, Events 1 Comment »

I am about to enter into my 6th month of pregnancy, so I felt that it was time to talk about how it has been. I am not going to lie it has been hard and amazing all at the same time. In the beginning I am sure as most of you know I was always sick, the sickness really did not subside until early April around 4 months. Around this time, I was convinced that the worst was over and I could finally start enjoying the perks: beautiful hair, skin, and the pregnancy glow. Not so much, within a few days it was all back again, luckily not as bad though. It is funny you hear all these things about pregnancy and you think wow I can’t wait, but it is the other stuff no one talks about or prepares you for. For example, like how bad it hurts when your ligaments begin to stretch, how hormones take over your entire body and your beautiful acne free skin is non-existent. Just venting, I am not writing about this to freak any one out, mostly just to vent. It is hard; I never knew how much my life and body where going to change and it has only begun. I have only started to show, so I can only imagine how these months are going to be. I have talked to so many people that were never sick, did not get acne, felt better than ever and also some that had a really hard time as well. So, I have come to realize that there is nothing I can do, everyone is different and we just have to deal with it all because the end result will be amazing. I have just been trying to think of it as he just wants his presence to be known. Every time I feel his kicks I know that all of this misery is worth it. I would rather have all the problems as long as he is healthy happy and safe. :)

It has officially begun; I was lying in bed on the 11th of May when at 11:15 I felt this weird feeling in my lower left side. At first I had no idea what it was. I thought it was just a stretching pain again so I did not think much of it since it only happened once. Well the next day of the 12th I was sitting on my couch watching t.v. around 3:30 pm and I felt is again, this time a little harder and three times in a row. Again though I was not sure what it was so I did not make a big deal about it. On the 13th I was feeling super sick, that I had called the doctor’s office for an unscheduled appointment. At this appointment I was being explained that a lot of the things I am going though unfortunately are normal in some pregnancies. Just to make me feel better though, the Dr said we could look at our little one to see that he is ok. I was so excited since my last experience was not with the happiest people. During the ultrasound on the 13th the Dr placed the paddle on my stomach, at which point you could see the baby kick up his feet and the paddle move. I now knew that what I had been feeling was his kicks. It was so amazing though because Ben actually got to see the baby kick even if he can not feel it yet. He is such a little acrobat. Since then it has been non-stop kicking. The other night I was watching Dancing with the Stars and it was like he was kicking to the musical beats, it was pretty amazing. I feel bad that Ben is not able to experience these moments with me but the Dr said it should only be just a few more weeks until he and everyone else will be able too. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Happy 1 yr anniversary to us!!!!!

Today was such an amazing day for me. Not only was it our 1 year anniversary but I also got to experience my first mother’s day. I felt like a princess, completely pampered all day. Today started off with my husband bringing me breakfast in bed, which was delicious. Then we got up and started to get ready for church. At church I felt extra special because there was a time at the end of the mass when the priest asked if all the mothers would stand up. I have to admit at first I was like well I am not a mommy yet, but the more I thought about it, I am a mommy. Mommies take care of their babies and that is exactly what I am doing, the only difference is I do not get to hold my lil man yet. It was a special moment that I was able to share with my mommy. After church I headed over to my parent’s house where I was greeted with gifts and a mother’s day card. The next thing on the list was to get a sexy new dress for tonight’s dinner. Now it is hard to feel sexy when you are prego, but after going to pretty much every store I settled with a black little number. It is difficult you want everything to fit and look good like it has in the past, but the sad truth is your body is changing and you just have to go with it.

When I arrived back at home I was greeted with some beautiful red roses, but not only where their roses for me but also for my mom and Ben’s mom as well, I have the best husband he really knows how to make all of the women in his life feel special.

Time to get ready for tonight….bbs

So tonight has come and went and it was an amazing one. The evening started off with dinner at The Capital Grille in Scottsdale and valet parking, for a prego women this is a major plus. Then when we arrived at our seat there was rose pedals, confetti, and a card waiting, it look very romantic. I think what really tipped the table off was these massive wine glasses, which of course we could not drink out of but they were still get for décor. Do you know what the best thing is about going to fancy place for dinner? They treat you so well, I actually got escorted to the bathroom, at first I was like what oh heck why not. Unfortunately Ben did not get escorted; I think it may have been a thing for females only. After we ordered dinner, we shared our cards we got for one another. I had a feeling I would get 2 so I made sure to get Ben an extra one as well, followed by the cards our parents had given to us for our anniversary. My mommy card was adorable, he wrote if as if it was from him, our little boy, and Slater as well. (Our other little boy) My favorite card was my anniversary card, it was not your typical mushy card, but it perfectly mapped out the first night we met. I will try to include a photo, so everyone can see. Of course my cards however were very mushy, I just can’t have it any other way! ;) Dinner was amazing we started off with a virgin daiquiri and a blue moon/amber for him. Then both of us had salads, 10oz sirloin steaks (no joke), and strawberry sorbet for dessert. Now since it was our anniversary we were also given a champagne/cider toast and a cheesecake with berries. Oh my gosh we were stuffed we took enough food home with us to eat tomorrow including our cheesecake. They really treated us well, I would definitely suggest it to anyone, but be pre warned, the food is expensive but definitely worth it for a celebration; you only get to have one first year anniversary.

Ben I just want you to know that I love you with all of my heart and I could have not ask for anything more in a husband. You have made all of my dreams come true and you truly are one of a kind. Here’s too many more anniversaries to come!
