It is official Ben and I will be welcoming a baby boy in a few months. It is still shocking to us; we were so convinced it was a girl. It just goes to show, mother’s intuition has not kicked in yet. J So let me tell you how it happened. During the ultrasound the baby was standing on its head and doing flips pretty much the whole time. Ben and I thought it was hilarious and could not stop laughing and smiling, the nurse however was terrible and was being really mean and calling our baby anree. You can imagine I was not too thrilled about this, I told her not to call it that and that the baby was just happy. By the way the ultrasound was going I was pretty sure we were going to have a problem seeing the sex of the baby. Boy was I wrong as soon as she turned to the baby backside it was very obvious it was a boy. I was in shock, I just look at Ben and started crying. It was a very emotional moment and I was so happy we were able to share it together. We think it is wonderful though, we had always wanted to have a little boy first. Since as long as I can remember we always had this idea of having a boy first and then a girl, so that way she would have a big brother to watch over her, just as I always did. I love the idea of the male being the oldest and Ben getting to have a little Ben Ben, a son to carry on the Leivian name. I think it would be awesome to name our little boy Ben Ben but of course that would be weird. We are still working on a name for him; it is a lot harder than we thought it would be. If it was a little girl she would already have a name. Stay tuned I am hoping by the birth he will have a name, lol!

I always wanted to do some big extravagant thing for when we were ready to reveal the sex of the baby. It all happened so fast and we did not want to wait when it came to that point. Instead we decided to go get some blue and white balloons. When we went to party city and they had no cute It’s a Boy balloons, at least none that were not massive and under $10. The lady was really great though she found us some regular mylar ones that had that saying and even one with feet on it. I will attach a photo of the balloons. Both of our families were ecstatic, but I would have to say that Ben’s dad was probably the most excited; especially since day one he has been calling the baby a boy! It is so wonderful to have such supporting and loving families, it really make the experience that much more special.
After we found out about the baby we pick up my grandma to share the good news with her. I wanted to tell her once we got to the baby store but we keep making all these little stops in between. I decided I could not wait any longer and wanted to tell her when we were in target. I went and found a baby scrapbook that was for a boy and brought it to her; she still did not get it. I finally said grandma it is a boy, she was so happy. It was a special moment for all of us. After target we headed to Babies R Us, (the best store in the world) to pick out some stuff for our little boy. We found some cute things, but I was totally bummed because there is like 80% girl clothes and only 20% boy clothes. It is sad because it feels like we have bought everything cute out there already and his closet is no where near full. L We did find the most adorable little shoes; I will include a picture of them so you can all see. I am sure you have all seen the picture of the crib we picked out, I posted it like months ago, and well wouldn’t you know when we went to get it they were sold out. I was totally crushed but still optimistic that someone would have it.
