3 Weeks Prego
So on the 16th I went in to have another blood test to check my hcg levels, well they were 59 that Tuesday and 162 that Friday, which is good they are going up and up. The doctor said on an average they are suppose to double or even triple every 72 hours. So then the nurse told me that it was time to call an OBGYN and set up our first appointment. Ok so now this is becoming a little more real. See when we first found out it was a roller coaster of whether or not it was actually happening. I had been sick for a very long time and was also on birth control. I know all babies are miracles of course, but this one was a BIG one, especially given my state. So the Dr took me off all of my medication and suddenly I started to feel better than I have in months. Sometimes I think this baby was sent to us, so I could get better. :0) The Dr had told me that when you are pregnant although there are different types of aches and pains, the issues I was having would all go away. Such a relief I was so sick of being sick. Even though our pregnancy is still very early we are loving every minute of it. My husband still asks me though, is there really a baby in there, lol. He is definitely still in shock that it happened so fast.
Ok so on Wednesday I called and set up our first appointment it is the 19th of Feb with a Dr that came highly recommended. They told me that should be around 8 weeks and we would get to hear a heartbeat. It is crazy not knowing exactly how far along you are. Everyone I have ever known that was pregnant, never knew like 2 and a half weeks in. It is nerve racking just waiting and waiting. Well I guess I will just consider it a wonderful V-Day present.
Stay tuned….

So yesterday was a lot of fun. First I had to get my blood drawn, which I admit is not fun, but the more and more it happens, the more and more I get used to it. So after the trip to the doctor’s I went over to my grandma’s house to pick her up for lunch and a little shopping. A quick little side note my grandma has been very sick for a long time, with a whole bunch of different problems, well when me and my hubby told her we were having a baby, she went nuts. She was so excited and kept saying, “Oh Mandy this is the greatest present you could ever give me, and I promise I am going to get better, I have to stick around for my grand baby.” Quoted exactly from her mouth. I have to admit I got really emotional when I heard that, sometimes all someone needs is a little joy to bring back their hope. OK so back to the day. So I picked up my grandma and we decided to go to target because I wanted to find a pregnancy planner. See when I was getting married I found this great book from Target, that was some what a life saver at times for me, and I knew that they just had to have something for baby too. So after searching all the isles I would think it would be, I decided to go look in the book section, and guess what there it was. I was super excited because I wanted something that was somewhat traditional but still allowed me the ability to write my thoughts from a day to day basis. For anyone wondering what I found it is called ,”The Pregnancy Journal.” It is a hard cover book written by Ph. D Christine Harris, and what is nice about it is that it takes you day-by-day rather than monthly. Also in the baby section my grandma found these adorable little mittens, which she said the baby had to have so they don’t scratch their face.
Well after we were done at target we decided to head over to Chilis for lunch. Great waiter but pretty uneventful lunch. When we were finished at lunch my grandma wanted to take me into Babies R Us to look around. Oh man that place is nuts, keep in mind this was the first time I have ever been in one of those, so I was in awww of all the baby stuff they had. I pretty much picked everything up I want for my baby. Yes, It is still so early for us but it was so much fun. It is crazy how a tiny poppy seed can make you real so over joyed, lol. So of course my grandma had to keep something for the baby, but not knowing what the baby is, kind of makes things hard. She was determined though to by something, so we found there really adorable Carter’s Wiggle-In bodysuits, that say, “Mommy loves me, Daddy loves me, and Grandma loves me. Two others were also include with stripes and ducks, very adorable and very unisex for what ever the baby shall be.Obvious again it is so early, but we are all just so excited.
So that was the day, and it was a blast, love you g-ma and thanks.
Stay tuned…

So today around 1:00 pm I received a call from my doctor’s office telling me that my levels were elevated on my recent blood test and that I was pregnant. The crazy thing is that I am so early in my pregnancy that it has taken 2 blood test which where both inconclusive in the pregnancy department. So since my levels are at 49 it is likely that I am about 3 or so weeks in, but again since it is so early we will have to wait to know for sure. So after I got the call I called my mom and told her to bring over a home pregnancy test. A few little details, I was on birth control, and I can definitely remember that one special night, lol, and on my iphone I keep track of everything so it made it all a lot easier when figuring everything out. Anyways, so I called my mom and asked her to bring over a home test so I could have even more proof, before I dropped the beautiful bomb on my hubby. I was pretty nervous at this time because I still did not have a for sure on the blood test pregnancy, so I thought that was no way that the home test would show pregnant. Well, it defintely did. See I told me mom I was nervous and I wanted her to look first, so she walked into the bathroom and said, “I don’t see anything.” So of course natural human reaction would be, what are you serious? And of course I looked and it said pregnant, at that point my mom said I knew you were before we took the test, then she admitted to crying before she came to my house, but she had to keep it cool for me, because I guess it is true a mother knows everything, even before you do. It was a very exciting time for both of us, we started crying and she gave me a hug. Wow, I am really so impressed with these tests I remember when they were just one or two lines, but now it actually says, “pregnant.” I know I am sure people have seen them, but little things like that make me happy.
So after we put ourselves together we ran to Safeway, granted my hubby would be home in like 20 minutes lol. So we were at safeway and we split up. We picked up pink and blue balloons, a beautiful card, flowers, these little balloons that read, “Its a Boy and Its a Girl.” So when we got everything together we called my hubby from the car, he was about 2 minutes away from home, so I told him I was hungry to buy us some time. We got inside put everything together and my mom said good luck gave me a hug and left. It was a memorable time. Thank you mom for everything I really appreciate it, I could not have done it alone.

I know I know these are well over due but I have not had the time to post them until now. Hope you enjoy.
