The Day We Met

Me and Mr. Wonderful as I like to refer to him, but many of you know him as Ben, met on October 28, 2005 at Dillons in Arrowhead. At the time, I was working at Dillons as a hostess and the 28th happened to be an annual Halloween Party that the restaurant hosts every year. The night was going pretty well. Little did i know, in just a few minutes, I would come face to face with the man of my dreams.

See I noticed Ben from the minute he walked in the door. He had on jeans, a sport jacket, his hair was all messy, (the sexy kind) and he was holding a red racing helmet. HE LOOKED GOOD. Being the wonderful hostess I was, I volunteered to take the guys to their seats. When I was done seating them I asked Ben, “So do you actually ride a motorcycle or is that just a costume.” Excuse my french but being a smart ass he said, “No I just like wearing this stuff because the girls like it.” At the time it seemed like a reasonable question to ask, right?

Well anyways, so then it was getting close to the end of my shift. One of Ben’s friends liked the hostess Marissa I was working with. So of course, not only was it another excuse to go over there, but I had to approve of him first. When I got to the table, this time I sat down next to Ben and asked him to show me his motorcycle. Before he could get a word in, his friend jumps in and says I will show you. However though Ben was not going to let that happen. I am pretty sure he knew a good thing when he saw it. When we went outside to look at the bike I asked him I could sit on it and he said “No, maybe if your lucky I will let you sit on it later” but anyone who knows me, probably already knows I sat on the bike anyways.

Ben later told me he was intrigued on how I did not listen to what he said. Ok so back to the story. We then headed back inside to join everyone else. Ok now this next part may seem a little strange but I promise you pickels are one of my favorite things. Once we were at the table, I then sat down next to Ben and asked him if I could have his pickle off his plate, boys will be boys and well you can figure the rest out. I dont know if Ben was in a mood to say no, but he sais no again, and guess what I ate the pickle anyways and it was yummy.

At this point we were all just having a blast together, laughing and just acting silly. After we were done eating we all went over to Ben’s to hang out. Ben and I were pretty shy the rest of the night, I think back now and I am pretty sure it is because we liked eachother. Once things started to calm down we began to warm up to eachother, and we spent the whole night talking and eatting Gardettos. I would not trade the night for anything at the time it was the best night of my life. We have been inseparable ever since.
